Trump intends to steer global politics even after leaving the White House

According to information published by Bloomberg and based on statements from a high-profile American official, Donald Trump intends to retain his position as chairman of the newly created Council of Peace until he decides to resign. This news marks another twist in his diplomatic initiative, which has already caused discontent among G7 leaders.

According to a draft charter of the Council that was obtained by Bloomberg, Trump will have an unprecedented level of control over the organization. The charter requires participating countries to contribute at least $1 billion to gain permanent member status, while the wording of the document hints that the management of these funds will be under Trump's control. Despite statements from the White House that a billion dollars is not an "entrance ticket," officials confirm that countries contributing significant amounts will receive expanded powers in project oversight.

During a press conference, Trump stated that the new Council of Peace could replace the "ineffective" UN. "The UN has not been helpful. I see great potential in it, but it has never utilized it. For all the wars I helped resolve, the UN offered me no support," the president noted.

European leaders have met Trump's plans with caution. French President Emmanuel Macron has already declined to participate in the signing ceremony in Davos, which provoked a negative reaction from Trump: he threatened France with 200% tariffs on champagne and publicly mocked Macron. Even Benjamin Netanyahu, a close ally of the U.S., expressed dissatisfaction, noting that the details of the Council's creation had not been coordinated with Israel.

Arab and European diplomats are currently working on a coordinated response, fearing that the new structure could become not only a tool for the reconstruction of Gaza but also an alternative world government under Trump's control. It should be noted that according to the charter, all decisions of the Council, made by majority vote, must be approved by the chairman, that is, Donald Trump himself.
