Preliminary data indicates that on the section of the Bishkek — Osh highway, within 255–260 km (the "Pelmennaia" and "Elik" sections), an avalanche occurred, temporarily paralyzing traffic. One loader from DEP No. 23 was involved in the clearing operations, and by 12:00, the road was reopened for traffic in both directions. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
At the "Aral" post in the Toktogul district, restrictions for all vehicles are temporarily being implemented.
Additionally, avalanches have also been recorded on several sections of the Ala-Buka—Jany-Bazar—Kirovka highway, where clearing has been ongoing for the second day.
Since February 12, 2026, according to the order of the akim of the Chatkal district, a state of emergency of II degree has been declared in the region.
Also, on February 11 at 23:44, on the alternative North—South road, on the "Kapchigay" section between the Jumgal and Toguz-Torou districts (275–290 km), avalanches occurred at 11 locations, with a total volume of 10,300 cubic meters.
To address the aftermath, civil defense services from the Toguz-Torou district were engaged, and the road was opened for one-way traffic. 17 vehicles with passengers were evacuated to a safe location, among them five cars that were stuck at the 260 km mark, which were taken to the village of Kazarman.
As part of measures to prevent further incidents, minimize material damage, and ensure the safety of the population, the administration of the Toguz-Torou district decided to temporarily close traffic on the "Kapchigay" section of the alternative North—South road until the avalanches have ceased.
