Recently, serious clashes occurred at the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. According to the Geo TV channel, the Pakistan Air Force attacked the positions of Afghan troops in Nangarhar province, resulting in the destruction of a significant ammunition depot.

What has happened so far?

On February 26, new hostilities erupted along the border, continuing a long-standing conflict over the disputed border — the Durand Line, established by the British in 1893. This border divided Pashtun tribes, and Afghanistan still does not recognize it as legitimate.

In response to the airstrikes from Pakistan, Kabul announced the commencement of large-scale military operations. The Taliban claim to have captured more than ten military bases of Pakistani forces along the border.

The Afghan Ministry of Defense reported fighting in five border provinces, resulting in the deaths of up to 55 Pakistani soldiers, some of whom were taken prisoner.

According to statements from Pakistani authorities, they inflicted significant damage on Afghan Taliban forces, destroying more than 36 tanks, artillery pieces, and armored personnel carriers.

Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar reported that during the operation "Ghazab lil-Haq," 133 Taliban militants were killed, and over 200 were wounded. He added that 27 Taliban military posts were destroyed, and 9 were captured.

Local media also reported the downing of a Pakistani military aircraft in Afghan airspace.

Today, Pakistan continued its attacks, striking Kabul, where gunfire was heard near the presidential palace. Fighter jets targeted the Taliban military corps in the Darul Aman area.
