According to her, protecting children's rights and their health, as well as their moral development, are the main tasks of both the state and society. Akunova noted the need for explanatory work aimed at preventing crimes against adolescents, as well as strengthening preventive measures and increasing public responsibility.
Family, as Akunova believes, is the first and most important link in ensuring children's safety. Parents should actively communicate with their children, show interest in their lives, and know who they interact with.
“Children need to be taught how to recognize dangerous situations and exercise caution when interacting with strangers, as well as inform them about potential threats on the internet,” she added.
Akunova also pointed out that the prosecutor's office, as well as social development, health, education, and internal affairs agencies, together with local authorities, are carrying out important work aimed at protecting adolescents and combating crime.
“The prosecutor's office monitors compliance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and coordinates actions to protect children's rights; the Ministry of Internal Affairs is engaged in preventing offenses among minors and identifying dangerous situations; the Ministry of Health is actively working to protect children's physical and mental health and to identify violence at an early stage; the Ministry of Education and Science creates a safe educational environment and conducts legal education; the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration supports families in need of assistance by implementing programs for at-risk children,” she reported.
Akunova emphasized that joint efforts and constant monitoring are of paramount importance. Effective crime prevention against adolescents requires information exchange between various agencies, joint raids, preventive measures, and active cooperation with society.
“Only by realizing that the safety of children is a shared responsibility can we achieve significant results in this work,” she concluded.
