According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, from March 18 to 23, snow avalanches, snow drifts, as well as icing and black ice are expected in high-altitude areas and on several highways.
The risk of dangerous situations is particularly high on the following road sections:
- Highway Bishkek — Osh (sections 198-260 km, Ala-Bel Pass, Chychkan Gorge);
- Route Myrza-Ake — Kara-Kuldja — Alayku (55-115 km);
- Road Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart (292-305 km, Dolon Pass);
- Section Balikchi — Kazarman — Jalal-Abad (201-205, 260-290, and 326-349 km, Kok-Art Pass);
- Highway Karakol — Enilchek (45-90 km, Chon-Ashuu Pass).
Drivers are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when passing through areas prone to avalanche danger and to maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
Emergency services warn of possible complications on the roads and advise taking weather conditions into account when planning trips.
