Avalanches and Ice Slicks Expected in the Mountainous Regions of Kyrgyzstan from March 15 to 18

Meteorologists warn of an avalanche hazard situation in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan from March 15 to 18. Snow avalanches are expected, as well as snow drifts and ice.

On the Bishkek - Osh highway, avalanches may occur in sections from the 121st to the 138th and from the 198th to the 265th kilometers, particularly at the Too-Ashuu and Ala-Bel passes, as well as in the Chychkan gorge.

Dangerous conditions have also been registered on the 55th to 115th kilometers of the Myrza-Ake - Kara-Kuldja - Alaykuu road and on the 292nd to 305th kilometers of the Bishkek - Naryn - Torugart highway at the Dolon pass. On the Balakchy - Kazarman - Manas road, there is a risk of avalanches in sections from the 201st to the 205th, from the 260th to the 290th, and from the 326th to the 349th kilometers at the Kok-Art pass.

Additionally, the section from the 45th to the 90th kilometers of the Karakol - Enilchek road at the Chon-Ashuu pass also remains avalanche-prone.

Drivers are strongly advised to maintain a distance of at least 500 meters when passing through potentially dangerous areas.
