According to the information from the department, the activities were organized to enhance public safety, prevent illegal actions involving firearms, and combat domestic violence.
The raid, titled "Arsenal," which took place in the Aravan district, focused on detecting illegal storage of weapons and ensuring compliance with storage regulations by owners. As a result of the raid, one rifled weapon and three traumatic pistols were temporarily seized and handed over to the district police department (ROVD). One citizen voluntarily surrendered their weapon after a clarifying conversation. Fines were imposed on eight violators.
In the Alay district, following publications on social media about threats and violence involving a pistol, three citizens handed over three traumatic pistols to the police for destruction. Additionally, traumatic pistols were seized from three citizens who had registered weapons, which were sent to the ROVD for violations of storage and re-registration rules.
The Internal Affairs Department of the Osh region notes that at present, active explanatory work is being conducted with the population in the districts to prevent incidents and crimes related to firearms. Citizens who voluntarily surrender illegally stored weapons are exempt from criminal liability under current legislation.
