As reported by Turmush correspondent, from January 17 to February 1, the Chui Region Chess Championship among adults took place on Saturdays and Sundays at the specialized children's and youth Olympic reserve school "Ak Ilbirs."
Thirty intellectual players from the Chui Region participated in the championship. Five participants from the Jayil District competed under the guidance of coach Ernist Jakypov.
As a result, the first prize was awarded to 16-year-old Azamat Jumabekov, a student of Secondary School No. 8 in Karabalta. He also won a ticket to participate in the championship among adults (men and women). The athlete is trained by Ernist Jakypov.
The winner was awarded a commemorative medal and a diploma from the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Chui Region.
