"It should be noted that the general plan does not include the demolition of houses; this was established from the very beginning," the official added.
He also reported that the procedures for approving the general plan are currently ongoing, which is a preparatory stage for its final adoption. "Once all necessary procedures are completed, the document will be submitted for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers. It is difficult to talk about timelines for now. As soon as the general plan is approved, its further stages of implementation will begin," Kanybek Jakypov explained.

Chyngyz Mederbek uulu, head of the urban planning department, added that the main goal of the general plan is to achieve balanced territorial expansion, preserve natural resources, improve social infrastructure, create a modern transportation system, and enhance the ecological situation.
"The general plan also implies decentralization in all directions. The emergence of sub-centers will allow citizens to avoid the need to travel to the city center, which, in turn, will help relieve urban streets," he noted.
By the way, the government has submitted the draft resolution on the general plan of Bishkek until 2050 for public discussion. This document will determine the strategic development of the capital for the next 25 years and will become the main tool for territorial planning.
