At an event at the White House, Trump noted that "a large armada, a fleet — however you want to put it — is heading towards Iran, even more than the one that was off the coast of Venezuela."

According to The New York Times, the U.S. president received a list of potential military operations against Iran from the Pentagon. In this context, Washington is considering strikes on Iranian nuclear and missile facilities, as well as actions aimed at weakening the regime in the country.

However, Western intelligence agencies have not found compelling evidence that Iran is currently developing nuclear weapons. The publication notes that there are no signs of high-level uranium enrichment or other activities related to the creation of warheads.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi previously stated that Tehran is ready to resume negotiations with the U.S. on its nuclear program, but only if Donald Trump stops his threats of new attacks on the Islamic Republic.

Last year, dialogue between Iran and the U.S., mediated by Oman, took place regarding the nuclear program, but was interrupted in June after Israeli and American strikes on facilities in Iran.
