FSB Names Suspects in Attempt on Deputy Head of the GRU Vladimir Alexeev

According to information provided by the Public Relations Center of the FSB of Russia, three suspects have been named in connection with the assassination attempt on Lieutenant General Vladimir Alexeev, who holds the position of Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate. This was reported by sources including TASS and "Izvestia".

The FSB established that the direct executor of the attack was Lyubomir Korba, born in 1960 and a citizen of Russia. He was detained in Dubai with the assistance of the police of the United Arab Emirates and subsequently extradited to Moscow. The FSB's Public Relations Center presented a video recording of his return to the country.

The accomplices named were Viktor Vasin, born in 1959, and Zinaida Serebrytskaya, born in 1971, both citizens of Russia. Vasin was arrested in Moscow, while Serebrytskaya, according to intelligence services, managed to leave Russia and move to Ukraine.

Yesterday, reports emerged about the detention of two other individuals connected to the case of the assassination attempt on Alexeev. The general himself regained consciousness after undergoing surgery.

The incident occurred on February 6 in the morning hours. According to the investigation, the attacker was waiting for Alexeev on the stair landing in his house on Volokolamsk Highway and opened fire, resulting in Alexeev sustaining injuries to his limbs, abdomen, and chest, which led to significant blood loss. He was urgently transported to intensive care.
