During his address, Trump noted that the situation in Iran has not changed over the past decades. "47 years of just talk. We've lost many lives during this time," he said. However, the president did not specify whom he envisions as the head of state, only mentioning that "there are people" who could take on this role.

Amid rising tensions, the U.S. is increasing its military presence in the region. Trump announced that the new aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford will be deployed from the Caribbean Sea to the Middle East. Currently, the USS Abraham Lincoln is already in the area.

Earlier, the Pentagon explained that the increase in military personnel is related to pressure on Iran to achieve a new nuclear deal. Recall that in January, the U.S. also did not rule out the possibility of strikes against Iran, considering the harsh repression of protests in the country.

Despite his sharp statements, after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue with Tehran. "I insisted on continuing negotiations to find out if an agreement can be reached," he wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

Washington demands that Iran cease uranium enrichment, while Israel also insists on limiting the missile program and support for armed groups. In turn, Iran has stated its readiness to discuss its nuclear program if sanctions are lifted, but warns that it will not accept "excessive demands."

It should be reminded that during his first presidential term, Trump withdrew the U.S. from the nuclear agreement signed during Barack Obama's administration and reinstated sanctions against Iran. Subsequently, Washington made attempts to resume negotiations for a new agreement.
