Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Macron noted that the end of the conflict will not change Moscow's actions. "We need to establish rules of coexistence to minimize the risk of escalation. Our geography will remain the same," he emphasized.

Macron also pointed out that the war in Ukraine represents a "major challenge" for Europe and has become a "military failure" for the Russian authorities. He added that to end the conflict, it is necessary not to make concessions, but rather to increase pressure on Russia.

The French leader recalled Vladimir Putin's speech at the Munich Conference in 2007, noting that at that time Europe rejected the proposed course and similarly reacted to the large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In Macron's opinion, the war has led to Russia's economic isolation and its dependence on China, as well as the emergence of demographic problems.

Earlier, the President of France reported on his readiness for a possible resumption of dialogue with Vladimir Putin, which is taking place in consultations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but specific timelines have not yet been determined.
