According to police, around 12:45 AM, they were called to the Faubourg Marigny area, which is near the French Quarter, where the celebration was taking place.
According to court documents, the bar manager attempted to escort LaBeouf out, but he tried to hit him. After that, when he was removed from the establishment, the actor reportedly struck one of the patrons who was assisting the manager and then returned to hit another man in the nose.
As stated in the police press release, "several people tried to hold him on the ground, and eventually, he was released in the hope that he would leave, but he attacked the same person again, throwing punches. LaBeouf then reportedly hit another man in the nose."
Witnesses detained the actor until police arrived, after which LaBeouf was taken to the hospital. He was later discharged and arrested, facing charges of battery on two counts.
Reports of the actor's inappropriate behavior began to surface over the course of several days. A worker at the local establishment Ms Mae's, Robert Skuz, told the Hollywood Reporter that LaBeouf appeared in "a somewhat confrontational state."
During the height of the conflict, the actor reportedly said, "Do you know who I am?" - Skuz recounted.
LaBeouf was forced to leave the establishment after attempting to get behind the bar and pour drinks for other patrons.
The actor has previously shared his struggles with alcohol. Following his arrest in 2017 in Savannah, Georgia, he underwent a court-ordered rehabilitation program, which inspired him to create the semi-autobiographical film "Honey Boy."
