Hundreds of fake truck driver training schools identified in the USA

During this large-scale operation, over 1,400 inspections were conducted across all 50 states in just five days, involving more than 300 inspectors. As a result, hundreds of educational institutions were identified that do not comply with established regulations. Violations ranged from using fake addresses to lacking qualified instructors. Some training centers did not teach drivers the rules for transporting hazardous materials, used unsuitable vehicles for practical training, and did not conduct mandatory exams for students. In some cases, representatives of the institutions admitted that they did not even meet the requirements of their own states.
As a result of the inspections, 109 educational institutions decided to voluntarily remove themselves from the national registry, while another 448 received notifications of potential removal due to non-compliance with basic safety standards.
Sean Duffy, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, noted that the trucking industry has operated "like the Wild West" for too long, emphasizing the authorities' intention to increase oversight at all stages of driver training to ensure road safety.
The current campaign is part of a broader initiative to tighten regulation in the freight transportation sector. Previously, authorities also strengthened English language proficiency requirements for drivers and implemented measures aimed at preventing unqualified foreign nationals from obtaining commercial licenses.
