On March 1, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that military operations in Iran could last up to four weeks. In an interview with The Daily Mail, he noted: “We expected this to take four weeks or thereabouts. Initially, it was about a four-week process, so it will probably take four weeks or less.”
According to Trump, the operation is proceeding according to plan. He also added that they have managed to eliminate more Iranian leaders than anticipated, specifying that “possibly 48 people” have been destroyed.
When asked about the possibility of negotiations with Iran and their timeframe, the U.S. leader replied that he did not have that information. “Iran wants negotiations, but I said they should have started discussions last week, not now,” Trump emphasized.
It is worth noting that on February 28, the U.S. and Israel carried out an attack on Iran, to which Tehran responded by launching hundreds of missiles and drones towards the countries in the region.
