Heavy rains and gusty winds have led to flooding in Dagestan, where residential houses have been submerged and widespread power and water outages have been reported. The authorities of Makhachkala have declared a state of emergency.

Sergey Melikov, the head of the republic, reported a difficult situation, noting that although utility services were prepared for worsening weather conditions, they faced more severe consequences than expected.

Currently, the most critical situation is observed in Makhachkala, where dozens of houses are flooded, and more than 60,000 people are left without electricity.

In Khasavyurt, a railway bridge has collapsed. According to sources, no train was on the bridge at the time of the collapse, but traffic is now blocked.

Roads in Derbent are also flooded. Local residents report that strong water currents have overturned vehicles. According to media reports, evacuation is being organized by boats for people trapped in private homes.
