As a result of the incident, more than 50 people were injured, including some who are in serious condition.
This tragedy occurred on January 14 in the Sikhiu area, in Ban Thanon Khot. A crane used for the construction of a railway bridge fell onto a train traveling from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani, causing the train to derail and catch fire. Many passengers were trapped under the debris.
According to official sources, the train, moving at high speed, collided with the fallen crane, after which individual parts of the structure fell onto the train.
