In Turkey, discussions have begun on a bill that proposes restrictions on access to social networks for minors under the age of 15. This bill requires platforms to implement systems for verifying users' ages, provide parental control tools, and respond quickly to content that may be deemed harmful.

According to information from the Associated Press, companies in the online gaming sector will also need to appoint a representative in Turkey to comply with the new regulations. In case of non-compliance, serious measures may be taken, such as limiting bandwidth or imposing fines.

The goal of this initiative is to minimize online risks and protect children from harmful content, representatives of the Turkish government note. It is worth mentioning that similar restrictions for children under 16 have been in place in Australia since December of last year. In March of this year, similar measures were adopted in Indonesia and Brazil, and discussions are ongoing in Spain, France, and the United Kingdom.

It should be noted that similar bans have already been approved in France and Australia. Additionally, similar measures are planned in Kazakhstan.
