In his evening address, as reported by "Ukrainian Truth," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Russia is preparing a new, massive strike. "In these days and in the future, increased attention should be paid — Russia is preparing for a powerful attack and is waiting for the right moment to carry it out," he noted.

Zelensky also urged citizens to be vigilant regarding air alerts and stressed the need to maintain readiness for a quick response in every region to provide timely assistance to people.

Against the backdrop of attacks by the Russian army on energy infrastructure, Ukraine faces the threat of a "collapse" in the energy supply system. This was stated in a message from DW, citing the German Foreign Ministry. A representative of the ministry reported the allocation of an additional 60 million euros for humanitarian aid to Ukrainians suffering from attacks on energy facilities and severe frosts.

Residents of frontline territories will receive financial assistance to purchase essential goods, including emergency generators for shelters, heating systems, as well as clothing and blankets. Additional support measures are also being considered.

According to information provided on January 19, a nighttime attack resulted in damage to five key energy infrastructure facilities in the Chernihiv region. According to the company "Chernihivoblenergo," tens of thousands of consumers were left without electricity. Repair work has begun, but its completion may be delayed due to security threats.

On the morning of January 19, the First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Artem Nekrasov, reported that after the attacks, consumers in Sumy, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions were left without power.

Nekrasov noted that the situation remains particularly severe in Kyiv and the region, where frosts increase the load on the energy system. Restoration of electricity supply in the capital is being handled by 60 crews, 12 of which have been brought in from other regions. Distribution system operators continue to implement restrictions, while previously established hourly blackout schedules have been temporarily suspended.

Restrictions are also in effect in the Odesa region, where work is ongoing to restore services after previous attacks.
