As part of the program to expand international cooperation, important agreements have been reached with Uzbekistan, and a trilateral agreement has been signed with China and Russia. Simultaneously, negotiations are underway to conclude three quarantine protocols with China.

The Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry reported on the visit of Deputy Minister Nyamzhav Baasansuren to the Organization, where a request was made for support in implementing the ePhyto electronic certification system, as well as the need to develop five regulatory acts related to the Plant Quarantine Law and the Plant Protection Law.

The Plant Protection Organization of Mongolia, established last year, includes three divisions and 19 employees. It monitors the spread of pests in agricultural lands in the central region and also works on the prevention of diseases and pests in berry and fruit crops. To date, 5,468 quarantine certificates and notifications for plants have been issued, and 20 international standards have been adapted for national application.
