Frames, "Primary Care", Digitalization: The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and WHO Aligned Priorities

Kanybek Dosmambetov, the Minister of Health, recently met with Liviu Vedrasco, the representative of the World Health Organization in Kyrgyzstan.

During the discussion, the Minister confirmed that the Ministry of Health is focused on strengthening its partnership with WHO, which has been operating in the country for over three decades and has made significant contributions to the development of the healthcare system.

The parties talked about important aspects of cooperation, such as the development of primary healthcare, staff training, digitization of the healthcare system, emergency preparedness, as well as issues of antimicrobial resistance and mental health. It was discussed that WHO's recommendations and expertise are actively used to create national programs and regulatory documents in the field of healthcare.

The Ministry also emphasized the WHO Cooperation Strategy with the Kyrgyz Republic for 2024-2030, which will serve as a basis for planning joint actions and will be adapted to the current priorities of the healthcare system.

Significant attention was given to international and national health events in which Kyrgyzstan plans to actively participate. In this context, the parties noted the importance of WHO in coordinating the efforts of partners and implementing international experience and best practices.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their readiness to deepen practical cooperation, regularly exchange views, and implement joint initiatives aimed at improving the health of the population and the effectiveness of the healthcare system in the Kyrgyz Republic.
