Doctor Andrey Martyushev-Poklad, who is a leading expert at the NTI "Healthnet" and the "Health of the Healthy" union, shared recommendations with RIA Novosti on weight loss. The main scheme includes several stages: first, it is necessary to eliminate the causes of chronic stress, then optimize the diet, and only after that add physical activity.

“For successful weight control, it is important to follow a certain sequence. The first step is to get rid of sources of chronic stress, such as poor sleep or lack of it. It is also advisable to give up alcohol, which is often used as a means to relieve stress,” the specialist emphasized.

At the second stage, the focus should be on proper nutrition. It is important to note that this should not come down to strict diets, but should include complete animal products, vegetables, and minimize carbohydrate intake, the doctor added. The process is completed by adding physical activity to daily life.

According to the expert, movement plays a less significant role in the weight loss process, as 80% of success depends on nutrition. Therefore, one should not expect significant weight loss solely from workouts.

“Nevertheless, after the issue of optimal nutrition is resolved, it is beneficial to incorporate simple physical exercises. These activities should aim to support the nervous system (for example, rhythmic low-intensity movements and walking), stimulate hormonal processes in the body, maintain activity (strength training), as well as develop flexibility and joint mobility,” noted Martyushev-Poklad.
