On February 26, a free kidney transplant operation was conducted at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health (NCMCH).

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, the patient was a man born in 1981, who had been undergoing treatment for chronic hemodialysis since 2018. His donor was his biological brother. Both patients are in stable condition and are under the supervision of medical staff.

Since the start of kidney transplant programs at NCMCH in 2018, 38 operations have been performed on a budgetary basis, with a total of 81 transplants conducted. The center employs an immunological testing methodology, which includes determining histocompatibility through the HLA system and cross-matching tests, significantly enhancing the safety of procedures and improving long-term outcomes for patients.

As of today, approximately 200 people with end-stage chronic kidney disease are on the waiting list for kidney transplants. The center's specialists are ready to offer consultations and preparation for surgeries to all interested parties.
