In the Toktogul district, a large project has begun, aimed at developing rain-fed lands for intensive horticulture. The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is preparing 30 hectares of land using modern agronomic technologies to support local farmers.
To ensure irrigation, a reservoir with a capacity of 15,000 cubic meters is being created, and drip irrigation systems are being installed. The area has already been fenced, providing protection from external factors. The land will be leased for a period of 5 years through the agricultural development management, which will help farmers plan their activities for the long term.
Seedlings are planned to be planted starting in March. The use of drip irrigation will not only solve the problem of water scarcity but will also significantly simplify plant care, which in turn will increase their yield. The ministry emphasizes that such initiatives are aimed at increasing the income of rural producers and promoting the sustainable development of the region's agricultural economy.
