
In Bishkek, on February 12, under the leadership of Adylbek Kasymaliev, the chairman of the cabinet of ministers and head of the presidential administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, a final meeting of the city hall took place.
At this meeting, the first deputy mayor Mirlanbek Baigonchokov presented the results of the socio-economic development of the city for 2025:
“The socio-economic development of Bishkek in 2025 was carried out within the framework of both state and municipal programs, taking into account the actions of the ADB. The main efforts of the city hall were directed towards ensuring sustainable economic growth, attracting investments, developing infrastructure, and improving the efficiency of municipal management in the context of an expanding city.
According to the National Statistical Committee, over the past five years, there has been a threefold increase in key macroeconomic indicators. As a result, the gross regional product of Bishkek in 2024 amounted to 744.0 billion soms, corresponding to a growth rate of 115.8%.

The market services sector also showed stable dynamics, increasing by 5.4 times over the past five years. The volume of market services in Bishkek for 2025 amounted to 1 trillion 879 billion 238.3 million soms, which corresponds to a growth of 114.5% compared to the previous year.
The consumer price index, which indicates the level of inflation, was 107.8% in 2025 compared to 2024. In the context of increasing market activity, special attention was paid to ensuring price stability and protecting citizens' interests. As part of price control on meat products, 461 raids were conducted with the participation of the antimonopoly service and other regulatory bodies.
The construction industry also demonstrated noticeable growth, which is an important indicator of investment activity in the city. The gross output of construction over the past five years increased by 2.3 times, reaching 143.5 billion soms in 2025 with a growth of 19.7%.
The average monthly salary in Bishkek has increased by 2.4 times over the past five years. From January to November 2025, it amounted to 54,672.9 soms, an increase of 24.4% compared to the same period in 2024.
The subsistence minimum also increased by 169.4% over the past five years and in 2025 amounted to 8,984.12 soms per person, which is 10.0% higher than in 2024.”
Mirlanbek Baigonchokov added that as of January 1, 2026, the number of officially registered unemployed decreased to 962 people compared to 2020, which is 2,847 fewer over the past five years.
