The meeting on increasing transparency in public procurement took place on January 22 at the Ministry of Finance. Participants included Deputy Minister of Finance U. Kalenderov and Regional Procurement Manager of the World Bank F. Goya.
According to information provided by the Ministry, the discussion focused on the modernization of the public procurement system, as well as initiatives aimed at increasing transparency, efficiency, and competitiveness of the procedures.
Kalenderov noted that the Ministry of Finance is actively working on improving procurement methodology, strengthening institutional capacities, and developing digital platforms to enhance the openness of these processes.
Goya, for his part, praised Kyrgyzstan's achievements and confirmed the World Bank's readiness to provide further expert assistance, including support for activities outlined in the reform roadmap.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue coordination and information exchange to successfully advance reforms in the field of public procurement.
