On February 5, in Bishkek at the B5+1 forum, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State John Mark Pomersheim outlined three main areas where the United States will deepen cooperation with Central Asia. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening interaction within the specified format.

The first area focuses on creating a favorable business environment. This includes establishing transparent and fair conditions for doing business, which, in turn, should increase the trust of American companies in the Central Asian regions. The U.S. also plans to support the development of human capital, innovation, startups, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.

The second priority is trade and investment, particularly in the fields of energy and critical minerals. John Mark emphasized that in the context of an unstable global market, it is necessary to enhance cooperation in the area of critical minerals. He noted the importance of creating reliable and diverse supply chains, as well as ensuring fair and free competition.

The U.S. also expressed interest in implementing American technologies and standards in the field of artificial intelligence, which will become another aspect of their cooperation.

The third area is related to the development of trans-Caspian trade and transport connectivity. Special attention will be given to the Trans-Caspian Trade Corridor, which is viewed as a key tool for expanding regional integration and enhancing international economic cooperation.
