At the meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Nilufar Alimjanova emphasized the need to study more deeply the impact of air pollution and smog on the health of citizens.
In her speech, she noted that the existing reports lack sufficient information about the negative consequences of smog, pointing out the increase in cases of diseases such as asthma and allergies, especially among children and the elderly.

Alimjanova also raised the question of what measures have been taken by the Ministry of Health within the framework of the interdepartmental commission, and how exactly this agency has contributed to assessing the impact of smog on public health.

The deputy stressed that too much attention in the discussion of this problem is focused on Bishkek and Osh, while the situation in the regions may be even more critical. She pointed to the active use of coal and the lack of gasification in these areas, which directly contributes to the increase in diseases.

“We must remember the regions. It is from there that the largest number of patients come who then need treatment in Bishkek, where there is already a shortage of hospital beds,” concluded Alimjanova.
