According to information presented at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee, the incidence of allergic rhinitis in Kyrgyzstan has increased by 2.5 times. The Director of the National Institute of Public Health (NIOZ), Jarkynbek Kasymbekov, discussed this issue in the context of smog and its impact on public health.

He noted that the lack of precise studies complicates the assessment of smog's effects on citizens' health, as conducting detailed calculations is quite challenging.

“Nevertheless, we are observing a noticeable increase in respiratory diseases. The rise in cases of allergic rhinitis among young people is particularly concerning, which is linked to the deterioration of air quality,” emphasized Kasymbekov.

Deputy Nilufar Alimjanova also expressed the need for a more thorough analysis of the consequences of smog and air pollution on human health. She pointed out that existing reports do not adequately address the impact of smog on health and also highlighted statistics on the rise of diseases such as asthma and allergic reactions, especially among children and the elderly.

Alimjanova emphasized that the discussion of the problem is mainly focused on Bishkek and Osh, calling for attention to the situation in regions where coal is actively used and gasification is virtually absent.
