“I have been in your profession, so I know what it’s like. I have deep knowledge in the field of journalism and have achieved my position through perseverance. My project 'Not Sugar' has been successful, unlike your materials about me, which lack quality. I am here to speak openly, while you take fragments of my speeches and distort them, portraying me in a negative light,” he addressed the journalists, and then continued his speech directed at Almasbek Abytov.

The parliamentarian also noted that negative articles about him appear because he refuses to pay journalists. He pointed out that some of his colleagues prefer to sign contracts with media outlets, resulting in only positive materials being written about them.

The reason for his emotional address was publications regarding the 'Aurora' boarding house. Earlier, Kokulov shared a video on social media showing neglected conditions and dirty premises with insects, claiming that this was the establishment's kitchen. This video caused a wide public outcry. In response, the management of the boarding house distributed materials to the media, claiming that the shown premises are not in use and that outdated equipment is stored there. These statements were also published in various media outlets.
