In Osh, a scheme for "free" transportation of foreign students has been uncovered
According to available data, some students pay for their fare online only once, after which they share the receipt in WhatsApp groups. As a result, the same receipt is used by 10–20 students to confirm payment, allowing them to exit the bus without additional costs.
This behavior creates serious difficulties for drivers and disrupts order in the public transport system.
The press service of the municipal transport enterprise in Osh reported that passengers who violate payment rules will be referred to law enforcement agencies. “Groups of foreign students, consisting of 10–20 people, enter the bus. Only one of them makes the payment, who then sends the receipt to the others. Other students show the same receipt to the driver and exit. When such violations are detected, we pass the information to the police. Protocols are drawn up against the violators, and measures are taken in accordance with the law. Following yesterday's incident, raid activities have commenced. In the event of repeated violations, we will hand over the passengers to the internal affairs department,” the press service stated.
The press service of the Osh Internal Affairs Department also noted that after a video appeared on social media, the identities of two foreign students were established, and discussions were held with them to clarify the situation. “After the video was circulated, we were able to identify two students, with whom explanatory work was conducted. The information was conveyed to the management. Currently, under the direction of the management, activities are being carried out to clarify the situation among foreign students and citizens using public transport,” the Internal Affairs Department reported.
At present, control over compliance with payment rules for public transport has been intensified, and raid activities continue.
