A hunter from the village of Ichke-Bulun in the Jetiy-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, Kantemir Baizakov, shot three adult wolves.

He shared this with a Turmush correspondent.

According to Baizakov, the predators have started to significantly harm livestock by killing domestic animals.

“I have been hunting predatory animals for 15 years. I often go to remote valleys. On February 1, the shepherds contacted us and reported that in the Ak-Shyyrak valley of the Jetiy-Oguz district, wolves were attacking livestock. Together with my younger brother Duyshonbu Mukalaev, we went there and shot three adult wolves in the gorges of Beshik and Tuyuk, through which the road leads to the Ak-Shyyrak valley.

The shepherds reported that the predators were attacking yak calves. Each wolf weighs over 50 kg. This season, I have already shot more than ten wolves, and we will continue to hunt predators. Recently, we went to the remote valley of Archaly in the Ton district and also hunted a wolf there. Now the wolves are descending to the foothills and posing a threat to livestock,” he shared.
