Parents will be required to raise their children according to their biological sex
A draft law has been presented in the Jogorku Kenesh that proposes a ban on gender change. This draft law has been submitted for public discussion.
The amendments concern the Family Code, as well as the laws "on civil status acts" and "On the protection of citizens' health." The main goal of these changes is to enshrine the immutability of biological sex in official documents and to restrict procedures related to its change.
According to the authors of the draft law, a person's sex is determined solely based on biological characteristics recorded at the time of birth. Changes to sex records cannot be made by the citizen themselves or based on medical conclusions or court decisions. Furthermore, the draft law prohibits any medical procedures aimed at changing sex, including surgeries and hormone therapy, except in cases related to the treatment of congenital anomalies of sexual development.
Parents will also be required to raise children according to their biological sex.
