The Ministry of Internal Affairs presented information about crimes affecting children left without parental care due to migration.

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on International Affairs, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Nurbek Abdiev reported on the ongoing monitoring and analysis of the situation concerning children whose parents are outside the country. He noted that the agency tracks the number of such children as well as cases of crimes against them.

According to the data presented, violence has been recorded against 39 children left in the care of relatives. The victims of violence were children under the guardianship of stepfathers, other relatives, and neighbors.

There were also mentions of cases where both parents left, leaving children under the supervision of grandmothers or other relatives. In such situations, Ministry of Internal Affairs staff, together with social workers, conduct field inspections.

Some children left home without their parents' permission and spent several days without supervision, during which they were subjected to violence.

Deputy Gulya Kozhokulova called on the General Prosecutor's Office to organize a coordination meeting dedicated to issues concerning migrant children left in the care of relatives. She emphasized that this issue should be considered separately and given priority during the discussion of the General Prosecutor's report.
