The Suyumbaev Stadium underwent major renovations last year: the roof on the eastern side, as well as the northern and southern stands, were replaced, and a rubber surface was laid on the athletics track, meeting international standards.
The work was carried out by the company "Universal". The customer was the Capital Construction Department of the Osh City Mayor's Office.
Erkin Ergeshov, the technical supervisor from the Capital Construction Department for the stadium, commented to Turmush that the mentioned concrete elements were poured at the base of the supports to extend their lifespan; however, their deterioration will not affect the structure. "We are talking about some supports that hold the stadium's roof. We poured concrete at the base to make them last longer. But the fact that this concrete has begun to deteriorate does not affect the structure because the base of the supports is very strong. In general, to ensure they last longer, the concrete needs to be periodically renewed or painted. We will now plaster and paint it," he said.
He clarified that the base of the supports was originally deepened by about 2 meters, concreted, and then the supports themselves were installed.
Meanwhile, sections of concrete on the fence to the left of the Osh City Sports Committee building have also begun to deteriorate. According to committee employee Farukh Sydykov, the fence was installed by the previous management.
"The area on the left side is private property. To prevent the owners from starting construction there, the previous management fenced off the territory. Later, when the stadium supports were being installed, earthworks were conducted, and soil and stones were dumped in that direction, which damaged the concrete of the fence. The concrete on the inside is in good condition, but on the outside, it turned out like this," Sydykov explained.
According to him, measures are currently being taken to repair this fence.
