In the city of Uzgen, a public discussion of the new master plan has begun.

According to the city administration, on February 4, the master plan for the city of Uzgen was presented to residents for discussion. About 400 citizens participated in the event.

Present at the meeting were Mayor Eldos Taev, Deputy Akim of the Uzgen District Maksat Ibraimov, Chairman of the City Council Nurullo Shamanov, as well as the plan developer and local residents.

Residents were able to ask questions to the head of the architecture department of the Uzgen city administration Nursultan Tashmamatov and expert Chyngyz Anarbaev. All suggestions were recorded in the minutes.

“The legal area of the master plan is 1,080 hectares, but in the long term, over the next 20-25 years, it will expand to 5,000 hectares. The city market is planned to be relocated outside the city, and in its place, shopping centers and multi-story buildings will be constructed. Improvements to the transport infrastructure are also planned. The master plan includes two alternative bypass roads—one will run to the north and the other to the south of the city.

Additionally, new plots have been allocated for the construction of kindergartens and sports facilities. The issue of preserving green zones has also been addressed. The master plan for Uzgen has not been developed in full before, and this document is the first since gaining independence. It is worth noting that in 1986, a master plan existed, but its area was significantly smaller. According to the new plan, the city's population, currently at 65,000, could grow to 120,000 in the future,” said Nursultan Tashmamatov.
