The Bishkek City Court confirmed the decision to impose a fine of 10,000 soms on a woman for slapping her ex-husband. The relevant information was published on social media by her lawyer, Nurbek Toktakunov, who represents her interests.
According to the lawyer, this decision has become a troubling precedent for women. "The court upheld the ruling of the Sverdlovsk District Court, which had previously imposed a fine of 10,000 soms. It should be noted that the man who received this blow had already been warned 16 times by law enforcement about the inadmissibility of using physical and psychological violence. However, the protection orders issued to him proved ineffective.
He also added that despite the man being sentenced to 4 years for torture, he was placed on probation. "Unfortunately, taking advantage of probation, he continued to harass his ex-wife, ignoring both the sentence and the protection orders," the lawyer noted.
