The Talas City Hall denied any connection with the suspect in the arson of his wife

The official statement from the Talas City Hall concerns a man who is a suspect in a case of severe domestic violence. The press service of the city hall clarified that this individual is not an active employee of the municipality.

It was reported that he previously worked at the municipal enterprise "Talas Zhashyl Charba" from July to December 2025, but his employment there has now ended.

The Talas City Hall expressed its position against all forms of domestic violence and urged law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate this incident in accordance with the law. The press service also requested that the media and citizens refrain from spreading false information.

As previously reported, this incident has caused a wide public outcry and a strong reaction from the Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan, Jamilya Jamanbaeva. The tragedy occurred in the village of Boo-Terek, where a 28-year-old woman sustained severe burns covering 60% of her body. According to the investigation, her husband doused her with gasoline and set her on fire during a conflict in front of their children.

The Ombudsman Institute found that the suspect's relatives attempted to cover up the crime by presenting it as an accident. The truth only came to light several months later when the victim, continuing to suffer violence, decided to tell her mother about what had happened.

Jamilya Jamanbaeva took the case under her personal control, calling on government agencies to intensify the fight against domestic violence and ensure the strictest punishment for the perpetrator. Currently, the victim is undergoing a difficult rehabilitation in Bishkek along with her children, and the investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Bakai-Ata District Police Department.
