Autism is one of the most discussed issues in the fields of medicine and education today.
On February 21, an international conference titled "21st Century ABA: Life Skills, Individuality, Values" will take place in Bishkek, focusing on autism spectrum disorders (ASD), modern approaches to correction, family support, and the creation of an inclusive society.
Autism remains an important topic for discussion in the world of medicine and education. According to international studies, the number of children with ASD is increasing, making early detection, support, and social adaptation particularly relevant. In Kyrgyzstan, there is no statistics on early autism diagnosis, but there is a noticeable rise in cases of ASD diagnosis among children. The conference will provide a space for exchanging opinions and experiences among specialists interested in implementing modern applied behavior analysis methods and creating accessible conditions for people with autism. Special attention will be given to collaboration among various disciplines and the exchange of practical knowledge in the field of ABA therapy, including the development of life skills, consideration of cultural aspects, and the individuality of the child.
There are about 50 centers in Bishkek that focus on the correction and development of children with developmental delays. The conference also aims to unite the efforts of interdisciplinary specialists to provide quality assistance to children with ASD.
This event will be beneficial for ABA specialists, supervisors, educators, doctors, speech therapists, defectologists, managers of children's institutions, and parents—everyone who works with children with special needs and uses evidence-based approaches.
Both international and local experts in the fields of medicine, psychology, pedagogy, and representatives of the expert community will participate in the conference. The main speaker will be Daria Li-Romanova (clinical psychologist, AR supervisor, BCBA, IBA, CBA-S, Hong Kong). Experts from Russia are also expected to attend.
The national expertise will be represented by specialists with significant experience working with children with special needs.
The conference format includes presentations, panel discussions, and discussions on current issues faced by families and professionals. The organizers are launching a charitable campaign that provides an opportunity for parents of children with ASD to participate in the event for free.
The organization of the conference emphasizes the importance of public attention to autism and the need for joint efforts to create an inclusive society where everyone has the right to understanding and support to realize their potential.
