The Jogorku Kenesh approved amendments to the law that reduce the number of types of state awards.

On February 19, during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, a draft law concerning state awards, honorary titles, and prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic was discussed. The initiator of the document was the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Justice Minister Ayaz Bayetov reports that the draft law plans to reduce the number of types of awards from 46 to 20.

In particular, it is proposed to exclude the following awards and titles:

the orders "Danaker" and "Erdik" of the III degree;
the honorary title "People's Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic";
the Honorary Certificate of the Kyrgyz Republic;
the honorary titles of the second category "Deserved".
At the same time, it is proposed to transfer the authority to establish the Honorary Certificate and the titles "Deserved" to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Additionally, the draft law introduces two new honorary titles: "Jaratman of the Kyrgyz Republic" and "Pride of the Kyrgyz Republic."
