By 2030, the government plans to increase this figure to 25 percent
At the "Agrodialog" forum, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev reported that in 2025, the volume of agricultural production reached 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms more compared to 2024.
He also noted that the processing industry produced goods worth 104.7 billion soms, which exceeds the figures of 2024 by 16.2 billion soms.
The government aims to increase the volume of agricultural product processing to 25 percent by 2030 and to 50 percent by 2040, while currently this figure is only 7 percent.
“To achieve these goals by 2030, it is necessary to launch 385 new processing enterprises, of which 75 should start operating by 2026. It is also important to develop agro-clusters and value-added chains,” Kasymaliev added.
He also reported on the growth of agricultural product exports, emphasizing that more than 60 types of goods are now sent to over 80 countries worldwide.
As part of the National Program for Agricultural Development until 2030, the following key areas are planned:
- increasing the volume of agricultural production by 30 percent;
- doubling the physical volume of processing;
- reducing water losses to 15 percent;
- expanding irrigated land by 15,000 hectares;
- increasing the availability of water to 93,000 hectares of land.
“Considering the importance of water resources, 12.3 billion soms are planned for the irrigation sector in 2026, and the total funding for agriculture will amount to 41.1 billion soms (31.5 billion soms were allocated in 2025),” he explained.
In addition, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of science and education in agriculture and the economy as a whole.
It is expected that the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University and scientists working in this field will make a significant contribution to the development of agriculture.
