In 2024, the volume of agricultural production reached 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms more compared to 2023, with a growth rate of 102.2 percent. The output of the processing industry amounted to 104.7 billion soms, increasing by 16.2 billion soms since 2023, with a growth rate of 130.1 percent.
Exports of agricultural products also showed positive results: over 60 product names began to be supplied to more than 80 countries. Citizens of the country are provided with 6 out of 9 main types of socially significant food products.
Kasymaliev emphasized that in the coming years, it is necessary to actively develop the material and technical base for seed production, breeding livestock, and nurseries. He noted the importance of effectively using preferential loans to implement projects in this area.
The head of the government also reported that by 2030, it is planned to increase the volume of agricultural product processing to 25 percent, and by 2040 — to 50 percent. Currently, this figure is only 7 percent.
To achieve this goal, it is necessary to build 385 new processing enterprises by 2030, of which 75 should be put into operation as early as 2026. The development of agro-clusters and value-added chains is also planned.
Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of science and education in the field of agriculture and economics. He expects significant contributions from the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University and scientists working in this direction.
During the forum, awards were also presented to employees of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
