- During the forum "Agrodialog," the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev shared information about the current state of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan. In his speech, he noted that the total volume of agricultural production reached 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms more compared to 2024, with a growth rate of 102.2%. In the processing sector, the volumes amounted to 104.7 billion soms, which is 16.2 billion soms more than in 2024, with a growth of 130.1%.

“The export of agricultural products shows positive dynamics: over 60 types of products are now shipped to more than 80 countries, and 6 out of 9 key food items provide for the country's population,” Kasymaliev noted.

“These achievements have been made possible thanks to your tireless work. It is important to note that the coordination of actions between the authorities and businesses is strengthening every year. Progress in addressing issues related to fuel, financing, and other aspects is evident. Within the framework of the National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030, ambitious goals have been set in the agricultural sector: an increase in agricultural production by 30%; doubling the physical volume of processing; reducing water losses to 15%; increasing the area of irrigated land by 15,000 hectares; and providing 93,000 hectares of land with water. In 2026, 12.3 billion soms are allocated for irrigation projects. Overall, 41.1 billion soms are planned to be directed towards agricultural development, while in 2025, 31.5 billion soms were allocated,” he added.

Kasymaliev emphasized the need to further strengthen the material base in seed production and breeding livestock, as well as in the nursery sector. He pointed out the importance of using preferential loans to implement projects in this area.

According to him, the government intends to increase the level of agricultural product processing to 25% by 2030 and to 50% by 2040, while currently, it stands at only 7%. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to launch 385 new processing enterprises by 2030, of which 75 are planned to be opened as early as 2026, as well as to develop agro-clusters and added value chains.

During his speech, Kasymaliev cited examples of successful countries, such as the Netherlands, where tulip cultivation brings in over 1 billion euros in revenue, and Turkey, which exports dried apricots worth about 400 million dollars a year. He noted that Kyrgyzstan has begun to enter the international market with dried apricots and emphasized the importance of increasing the recognition of Kyrgyz apricots. The first step towards this should be the systematic promotion of local products in the domestic market, as well as increasing their value and forming a culture of consumption.
