The mayor emphasized that any inappropriate removal of trees or branches causes him concern, as green plantings provide shade, clean air, and health for future generations.
According to him, city services have already received instructions to strengthen control over the cleanliness of streets and yards, as well as to complete ongoing beautification and waste removal projects.
Akayev reported that this year, about 20,000 trees and nearly 2 million ornamental plants are planned to be planted. The mayor's office is also negotiating with benefactors to obtain an additional 10,000 seedlings.
“If we do not start mass greening, problems with dust and air pollution will only worsen,” noted the mayor of the southern capital.
He emphasized the need to create green zones in the yards of multi-story buildings and to increase the number of small parks. Akayev stressed that every resident should have the opportunity to step out of their home and find themselves in a well-maintained space with trees and flowers. This direction will be supported as part of the republican campaign "Zhashyl Muras," initiated by President Sadyr Japarov.
According to the mayor, greening should not be a temporary action but a sustainable policy of the city.
He called on educational institutions, businesses, and enterprises to actively participate in the beautification of adjacent areas and contribute to citywide initiatives.
“Planting a tree is just the first step. The main thing is to take care of each seedling as if it were a child. Without proper care, nothing will grow,” emphasized Janarbek Akayev.
He also expressed gratitude to the municipal services and active citizens who participate daily in the cleaning and greening of the city. Akayev is confident that with joint efforts, Osh can truly become green.
In the near future, the municipality plans to present new projects that, as the mayor noted, “will be beneficial to thousands of residents” and will continue the work on beautification and ecological renewal of the southern capital.
