During his visit, Osmonov toured the National Hospital, where he studied the work of the emergency department and other facilities that are currently under renovation.
The chief physician, Bakyt Tologonov, reported that the renovation of the intensive care unit is expected to be completed soon, and the work on upgrading the reference laboratory building should be finished by the end of April.
The establishment of the reference laboratory is being carried out with the support of the Asian Development Bank and aims to create a centralized laboratory base for the city's medical institutions. This will enable the National Hospital to conduct laboratory tests for clinics in Bishkek on a unified basis, which in turn will improve the quality of diagnostics and standardize research protocols.
The minister also reviewed the operations of the central emergency medical assistance department, which has been successfully functioning for over a year and a half and has established itself as a sought-after service. Priority areas for further development of this unit were identified, including the creation of a shock room, improving equipment, and implementing continuous ECG monitoring for patients in the intensive care unit.
Additionally, the Minister of Health took an interest in the Kyrgyz Scientific Center for Human Reproduction. Osmonov instructed to develop practical recommendations to improve indicators in the field of maternal health and strengthen the scientific potential of the center.
