On February 28, Minister of Health Damirbek Osmonov conducted a working trip to medical organizations in the capital, Bishkek. During the visit, he familiarized himself with the conditions under which medical assistance is provided, as well as assessed the state of infrastructure and current healthcare challenges.

According to the Ministry of Health, during his visit, the minister inspected the emergency department at the National Hospital and the facilities where renovation work is currently underway.

The chief physician of the National Hospital, Bakyt Tologonov, noted that the renovation of the intensive care unit is nearing completion, while the refurbishment of the reference laboratory building is expected to be completed by the end of April.

The establishment of the reference laboratory is being carried out with the support of the Asian Development Bank and aims to create a centralized laboratory base for the city's hospitals. This will enable the National Hospital to conduct laboratory tests for other city hospitals in a centralized manner, significantly improving the quality of diagnostics and implementing unified research standards. The project has been ongoing for a year, and after the renovation is completed, new equipment will be installed, and staff training will be conducted, allowing the laboratory to operate at full capacity.

Additionally, the minister reviewed the operations of the central emergency department, which has been successfully functioning for over a year and a half. During the visit, areas for further improvement of the department's work were identified: the creation of a shock room, equipping the units, and organizing continuous ECG monitoring for patients in intensive care.

At the end of his visit, the minister visited the Kyrgyz Scientific Center for Human Reproduction, where the management of the institution presented information about current activities, available resources, and challenges faced in the field of reproductive health.

As a result of the visit, the minister instructed the management of the Center to develop specific proposals for improving maternal health indicators and strengthening the scientific potential of the institution.
