A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan dedicated to the development of a national laboratory service and the improvement of medical waste management.

According to the press service of the ministry, the participants discussed the creation of a unified, managed, and stable laboratory diagnostics system aimed at increasing the accessibility and quality of medical care for the population.

The proposed model includes the formation of a unified national laboratory diagnostics framework that will integrate both the public and private sectors, based on common quality, accountability, and management requirements.

During the discussion, emphasis was placed on the need to create an effective laboratory service management system, implement international quality standards, and utilize digital solutions for monitoring and control, which should contribute to the rational use of laboratory resources and enhance the accuracy of research results.

Additionally, the participants addressed issues related to improving medical waste management, including strengthening state control and introducing modern technologies for their disinfection and disposal.

Experts invited to the meeting shared their suggestions on the structure and standardization of laboratory operations, as well as on medical waste management.

Minister Kanbek Dosmambetov highlighted the importance of developing the laboratory service and effective management of medical waste as key areas of state policy in healthcare, which have a significant impact on disease prevention, timely diagnosis, and the protection of citizens' health.

As a result of the meeting, relevant departments were instructed to further improve these areas and to implement the planned tasks in stages.
