At a press conference, the director of the consular department, Seytek Jumakadyru ulu, stated that pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia for Umrah have not raised the issue of the need for urgent evacuation.

According to him, there are currently about 6,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in the kingdom, most of whom are pilgrims.

“Everyone who came for Umrah is accommodated and under the control of the companies that organized their trips,” he added.

As of March 2, there are about 22,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in the Middle East, mainly in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. At the moment, there are no casualties or those left without housing among them.

Since February 28, the region has seen air and missile strikes by Israel and the United States against Iran, which provoked retaliatory attacks from Tehran on Israeli and American military facilities in several Middle Eastern countries. U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of the military operation "Epic Fury" immediately after the first attacks.

As a result of these events, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as several high-ranking officials, were killed.

The conflict in the Middle East continues to escalate, and missile strikes from both sides are ongoing. The closed airspace has created difficulties for tens of thousands of people caught in the conflict zone.
