New Maternity Hospital and Dormitory for Doctors: Minister of Health Visits the Central Perinatal Center in Kemine

During his working trip, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Damir Osmonov, visited the Center for General Medical Practice in the Kemin District of the Chui Region. He familiarized himself with the state of the medical infrastructure, as well as the progress of construction work and the equipping of the institution with modern equipment.

According to the press service of the ministry, the minister inspected the new building of the maternity hospital, which is designed for 50 beds. This four-story building, with a total area of 2,220 square meters, has already been constructed up to the third floor, where work on pouring the monolith is currently ongoing.


The project includes the placement of the reception and gynecology departments on the first floor, as well as offices for ultrasound diagnostics and colposcopy. The operating block and two delivery rooms will occupy the second floor, while the third floor will house the neonatal pathology department and the gynecology department with separate sanitary facilities. The issue of purchasing modern medical equipment is also under consideration.

In addition, Osmonov got acquainted with the work on creating a dormitory for medical staff. The former infectious disease department is being converted into residential space with eight apartments, meeting all necessary requirements. Funding is provided by the Kemin District Development Fund, and the total cost of the work is about 18 million soms. The area of the new dormitory will be 1,450 square meters, which should significantly improve conditions for medical workers and help address the staffing shortage.

At the meeting, the management of the Center for General Medical Practice voiced a number of existing problems, particularly the shortage of medical personnel. Currently, measures are being taken to improve working conditions and attract specialists, including through the construction of the dormitory.

The minister also inspected the old building of the maternity hospital, where the issue of major repairs had previously been considered. About 100 million soms had been planned for this purpose. Following the inspection, the minister instructed to conduct an additional study of the building's condition and the feasibility of repairs.
